Esther Warren Hampton

Esther W. Hampton, 69, Crystal River, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, under the care of her loving family and Hospice of Citrus County. Esther was born on March 6, 1942, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Warren and Maybell Poole (Quarles) and came to the area in the early 1960s from Detroit, Michigan. She was a member of the Crystal River Church of God and loved to help anyone that crossed her path. She enjoyed garage sales and flea markets, and especially spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Henry (Katie) and Wade (Penny) Hampton, one daughter, Mary (John) Machowski, two stepsons, George (Luanne) and Jay (Kristie) Hampton, daughter-in-law Cindy, three brothers, Howard, Bob, and Jody Quarles, one sister, Tina Wilkens, 26 grandchildren, Logan, William, John, Annsofia, Gunnar, Chase, Kaylyn, Lauren, Cory, Marilyn, Scarlet, Chris, Tonya, Jimmy, Jackie, Dathon, Mathew, Graylon, Preston, Austin, Summer, Alexis, Blake, Jennifer, Jillian and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren, Marina, Miles, Manny, Tyler, Tanner, Eddie, Bailey, Avery, Aubrie, Becky, Saxon and Landon; and 18 nieces and nephews, Recee, Tina, Hannah, Sara, Michael, Adam, Jennifer, Bobby Joe, Natalie, Ruby, Holly, Melody, Amy, Ashley, Heather, Chris, Alfred and Chris.. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Hampton, in 1998, and her stepson, Captain Bill Hampton, in 2011.

A viewing will be held Monday, January 2, 2012, 6-8 pm at Wilder Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at 1 pm at the Crystal River Church of God. The family requests donations in Esther's memory to either the church, Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464, or Wilder's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1052, Homosassa, FL 34447 in lieu of flowers.
