

Fred L. Parsons, 77, of Crystal River, FL and Ellijay, GA, passed away on Sat., Sept. 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer, multiple myeloma, and acute leukemia. He was born March 12, 1937 to the late Charles and Elsie Parsons in Bluefield, W. Va. He ran Sarah Contractors in Baltimore, MD for nine years before relocation to Homosassa, FL in 1972, where he started Fred Parsons Fill Dirt Business, which was instrumental in developing the Riverhaven development. He also ran the Chicken Farm Motocross track in Homosassa. After the businesses were sold, he and his wife divided their time between their farm in Ellijay, GA and their home in Crystal River, FL until his passing. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Parsons; sons Freddie (Cindy) and Kevin, both of Maryland; stepson Ron Guido (Susan), Homosassa; sister Alvenia Blankenship (Garnet), of Delaware, as well as his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. A true animal lover, he was the once proud owner of Patton and Jaliq; horses that captured his heart. Friends will be received on Wed., Sept. 24th from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Interment prayers will follow at Stage Stand Cemetery, Homosassa Springs, FL at 3:45 P.M.
