

James H. Geary, 82 of Homosassa, Florida died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was born on July 15, 1932 in Salem, Massachusetts to Eugene and Louise (Mahoney) Geary. James was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was the owner/operator of Pearce Equipment Company, where he designed and built frozen food processing equipment in Gloucester, MA. One of his most renowned designs was the Pearce Block Sizing and Forming Press, which is internationally used in many seafood processing plants. James moved to Homosassa, Florida 22 years ago from South Hamilton, MA. He was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed woodworking and wood carving, was a member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge #2693, American Legion Post #155 and was a former member of Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club.
James was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Edward and Eugene Geary, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara J. (McCall) Geary of Homosassa, Florida; sons, David Geary and wife Nina of Belmont, MA, Tom Geary and wife Cheryl) of Mims, Florida and Steven Geary and wife Kathy of South Hamilton, MA; daughters, Linda Day and husband Doug of Byfield, MA and Janet Fraser and husband Tom of Salem, MA; brother, Donald Geary of Lake Havasu, Arizona; sister, Loretta O’Connell of Arlington, MA; grandchildren, Joseph Day and wife Jessie of Haverhill, MA, Melissa Ouellette and husband Michael of Haverhill, MA, James Geary and fiancé Amanda of Claremont, NH, Jennifer Underwood of Gloucester, MA, Jason Underwood of Salem, MA, Rachael Fraser of Salem, MA and Michael Geary and fiancé Jen of Rowley, MA and great grandchildren, Isaac Ouellette, Rowan Day, Joseph Balkus, Alek Balkus and Sara Ann Balkus.
Visitation, Monday, March 9, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wilder Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors to follow at 2:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery.
All are invited to a reception that, will be held at 6:00 PM following the services at the West Citrus Elks Lodge #2693, 7890 W. Grover Cleveland Blvd., Homosassa, Florida 34446.
