Hello my name is Terri Nealy I would like to give my condolences to Larry Family. Larry was a great person and I have good memories of our relationship. May God blessings be bestowed upon Larry family. Amen 

It's hard to believe that someone as energetic and funny and sharp as Larry is gone. I'm happy to have gotten to know Larry. Condolences to his friends and family. 

I met Larry in my freshman year at Ohio University where he was already settled in an off campus apartment  with the older friend of my college roomate.  While we could not have been more different, his love of language and gregariousness was contagious .  He loved to watch and discuss sports - I loved to do them.  He introduced me to the world of betting at their annual Kentucky Derby apartment party over Parents weekend (my mom  won) and we visited the track for the races when I visited LI.   He enjoyed introducing me to movies I would never have picked on my own.  We travelled to Columbus to see the Exorcist and he insisted I watch Soldier Blue when it returned to campus because he was in "fan" love with Candice Bergen and Buffy Sainte Marie.  And he employed me and my roommate one night a week at the "Sandy Wagon"  - selling sandwiches and cookies to  dorm dwellers out of a small food truck that he operated with his roommate. Larry was a very adept letter writer and we stayed in intermittent correspondence after he left OU until the late 1970's when we lost touch.  Somehow he tracked me down again (Ed?) about 8  years ago and we enjoyed many phone conversations over these last few years.  Larry was a force, a presence, and he cared deeply about the people in his life.  Some things never change.  I will miss hearing his voice - and his passion - on the other end of the line.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  

I am deeply saddened about the passing of my dear friend Larry. Soon after he moved from Queens, NY to New Hyde Park in the 4th Grade we became best friends during the Wonder Years as pre teen and teenagers at NHP HS. We shared a passion for sports which was  the initial catalyst of our friendship. Larry LOVED sports. He loved to discuss and debate with any of the guys those great issues of who was/is the “best” player, team etc in any sport. He typically won the debate because he always had the statistics to support his argument. At the lunch table in HS where many of our sports debates took place, we would sometimes wonder if Larry memorized batting averages the night before instead of doing his homework . He had a phenomenal memory.  I was not surprised when he parlayed his expertise and passion for sports into a career. Larry was a great friend who was always fun to be with. His sense of humor and great conversational skills will always be remembered. I pray that he is now reunited in Heaven with his dear parents , saved by the grace of Jesus Christ.

Larry's world was sports...and his family.  He could tell you who scored the second touchdown in the third quarter of the 5th Super Bowl in a moments notice.  A photographic memory.   He met THE Jim Brown on a San Diego beach in the early 80's and so impressed Jim that with  his instant recall of all things sports, that Jim referred Larry to some familiar Las Vegas Sports Radio contacts.  Thus began a 40 + year , nationally known  Sports analyst career.
We visited Larry in Las Vegas often back in the 80's and the most vivd memory I have was walking down the Vegas Strip with Larry and his father early one morning on our way to breakfast, when Larry stopped  at newspaper machine to buy a USA Today.  Immediately and without hesitation he yanked out the sports section, and through the rest of the paper away.  "I don't care about world events!  Sports is my world!  That was Larry.  The sports world has lost a good one.

I came to know Larry as a neighbor, shortly after moving into Sugarmill Woods several years ago. We met in my back yard and promptly engaged in discussion regarding the world of sports. We developed a mutual bond, when he told me about his prior life in California/Las Vegas, his role in world of sports betting, and my family connection to the L.A.Lakers. As I grew to know Larry better, it was obvious that his true love was art. Here again we connected  because of his eclectic and wide-ranging interests in several artists, with whom I was familiar. I found Larry to be an engaging and convivial person, willing to assist others as needed,  while circumspect and respectful of others. We were invited by Larry to visit his nearby newly rented home, just weeks prior to his passing, and again were again impressed by his  art collection, as beautifully displayed as it had been when he lived next door. May he rest in peace, he will be missed, by those who knew him best.

Jerry and I send our deepest sorrow for the loss of Larry. We came to know him  as he rented our homes in  Sugarmill Woods. Larry was a wonderful renter and thoroughly enjoyed our property. 
I will always remember his love for Art as I have never seen so many pieces hanging in a home but 138 Pine was certainly his studio. His love for colorful rugs stand out in my mind as well. He loved to change things up too. 
I pray he is at peace along with your mom and dad.
