

Mildred Lynn (Bell) Taylor, 93, of Homosassa, Florida, died on December 15, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus County in Lecanto, Florida. She was born on December 7, 1924 to the late Charles Ralph Bell and Mildred Virginia (Lynn) Bell in Durham, North Carolina, which is in Wade County. Mildred was married to the late William Lloyd Taylor of Stockton, Alabama. They were married in Lucedale, Mississippi on Jan. 19, 1956. William died at home at the age of 82 on March 24, 2011. He and Mildred were members of VFW Post 8189. She is survived by two sons, George Richard Douglas (wife Renate) of Cameron, North Carolina and Robert McMaster Douglas of Homosassa Florida and a daughter, Carol Lynn Cockburn (husband James) also of Homosassa; daughter Sandra Powell (husband Bobby) and son Mike Taylor (wife Diane), both of Bay Minnette, Alabama, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by two children, Phillip Wayne Douglas and James Prior Douglas, as well as her two siblings; Robert M. “Mack” Bell and also Dorothy Bell, who passed away as an infant. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida with burial following in Fountains Memorial Park in Homosassa.
