

Robert F. Chadderton, 79, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Sat., April 11, 2026 at his home. A native of Newport, Rhode Island, he was born Aug. 18. 1946 to Frank and Evelyn (MacDonald) Chadderton, one of two children. Robert earned his Associate Degree from Michigan Tech University, where he became a real fan of hockey and skiing. Robert served his country honorably and proudly as a United States Marine, which included a 13 month deployment to Vietnam, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He moved here 24 years ago from Loveland, Colorado, where he had lived for 30 years. Robert was a retired Civil Engineer for the Colorado Dept. of Transportation and was a faithful and devoted member of Narrow Road Challenge Ministry and School in Homosassa Springs. He was President of the Loveland Colorado Jaycees and was the Northern Colorado Regional Director of the Jaycees, as well as a Director of the Pontiac Jaycees in Michigan. Robert faithfully served the Lord in the following positions; Board of Directors, Deacon and Prayer Team at Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland, Colorado; Family Life Church in Homosassa, Florida and Brooksville Assembly of God in Brooksville, Florida. He was a giver!! He loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. He led home groups and taught others how to lead. God gave him the gift of leadership. Robert loved skiing with his beloved wife Patti, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Robert pursued his passion for the game of golf as a member of both Sugarmill Woods and Southern Woods golf courses. He was an excellent swimmer and loved the water, particularly the ocean. An avid traveler, he and his wife Patti traveled to every state in the United States, except Alaska. They also enjoyed visiting Cabo San Lucas. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Saunders, and his daughter, Theresa Lynn Thornton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia “Patti” Chadderton of Homosassa; son Robert Chadderton (wife Stella) of Greeley, Colorado; son-in-law Raymond Thornton of Homosassa; grandchildren Amanda Lee Rowlinson (husband Keegan) of Gainesville, Florida and Darian Michael Roberts (wife Aly) of Topeka, Kansas and great grandchildren Kaio and Anthony Roberts, both of Topeka, Kansas. Military Honors and Prayers will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with the United States Marines and the Citrus County All Veterans Honor Guard rendering the honors, followed by prayers with Pastor Doug DeRespiris. Services entrusted to Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida.
