Robert T. “Bob” Koplar, 54, of Homosassa, FL, passed away suddenly on Tues., April 10, 2018 at his home. A native of Queens, NY, he was born Oct. 14, 1963 to Ralph and Catherine (Murphy) Koplar, one of six children. Mr. Koplar was a retired corrections officer, having faithfully served the Nassau County Dept. of Corrections in New York. Also affectionately known as “Cadillac Bob”, he had a heart of gold and was widely known to be always helping others. Bob was a diehard New York Yankees fan and also loved fishing, country music, and his Coors Light. He is survived by his daughters Nicole and Emily Koplar, both of Medford, NY; his parents Ralph and Cathy Koplar, Homosassa, FL; sister Diane Vaccariello, Homosassa; brother Ralph M. Koplar, Jr. (wife Cindy), Northbrook, IL; sister Ann Deletto, Massapequa, NY; brother Richard Koplar (wife Debbie), Massapequa Park, NY; nieces Kathleen Beaser (husband John) and Kristin Duke (husband Jud); nieces Mia and Isabella and nephew Rin; nephews Paul and Matthew and niece Jenna; and niece Rachel and nephew Ryan. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Koplar, on July 15, 2009. Friends will be received on Sunday, April 15, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL with Fr. Ronald Marecki, Celebrant.
