

Robert Earl Smith, 91, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Mon., Dec. 8, 2025 at his home. A native of Bronx, NY, he was born April 4, 1934 to Earl and Ella (Schliff) Smith, one of two children. Mr. Smith enjoyed a decades long career with Bell Telephone as a field repair technician. One of his greatest pleasures in life was also enjoying a gifted and accomplished career in magic; for 70 years, he was known as Trebor the Magician. Mr. Smith was a member of The International Brotherhood of Magicians and The Order of Merlin Excalibur. As also a member of the Society of Distinguished Magicians, Trebor was publicly recognized for his 70 years as a magician at their Daytona Magic Convention on Nov. 4, 2023. Mr. Smith was also a fan of baseball, handball and racquetball during his life. Robert was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elizabeth M. Smith, on May 1, 2019; a son, Robert Smith and his sister, Eileen Wrobel. Mr. Smith is survived by five children: Douglas Smith and Patricia V. Trejos, both of Hudson, FL; Janice Rose, Palm Harbor, FL; Donna Bassignani (husband Harold), Cold Spring, NY and Audra Ogden (husband Roy), Mohegan Lake, NY; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed., Dec. 17, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. J. Glenn Diaz, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills, Florida.
