

Timothy Smith Davis, better known in his community as the “newspaper angel”, passed away January 19, 2017 after suffering from Parkinson’s disease and cancer. He could be seen every morning in Forest View Estates in Homosassa picking up newspapers and putting them on resident’s doorsteps. He was born May 17, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, but spent most of his youth in Mansfield, Ohio. He received his accounting degree from Parson’s College in Fairfield, Iowa, then worked for Smith and Phillips Furniture Store. He joined the army and served in Vietnam where he was awarded five medals including the Medal of Merit and the Bronze Star. After serving in Vietnam, he worked several different jobs, but ended his career working for Publix Super Markets. There he also received awards. He is survived by a sister, Allison Young, and a brother, Christopher Davis. A Memorial will be held at Forest View Estates clubhouse on January 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm. Military Honors will be rendered on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. He will be dearly missed by all.
