After a valiant short-lived battle with an aggressive lung cancer, Armand “Bo” Wesley Mariboho of Mililani, Hawaii passed away on April 20th, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born November 4th, 1949, the son of late Cornelio and Lillian Mariboho. He was the 3rd oldest of six siblings.
He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Darla; his daughter, Rachael Mariboho of Carrollton, Texas; his stepson, Jereme Novak; his sister, Arlene Lynd and his brother, Keith (Gina) Mariboho of Concord, California; along with many more family members, too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, a step-son and several beloved pets.
Bo was a 1967 graduate of St. Louis High School and a Crusader for life. He proudly wore jersey number 44 as part of The Cinderella Team of 1966-1967. One of his prized possessions was the old envelope filled with Honolulu Advertiser articles, collected by his father and describing his athletic accomplishments in all aspects of sports in his Senior year.
Bo, a Honolulu Police veteran, joined HPD in 1971, retired in 1996 and served an incredible career. After his retirement, he served as School Safety Manager at Central Middle School and was also a Special Agent with the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General’s office.
Bo was an all-around athlete, who enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, darts, bowling, golf and scuba diving in the ocean. He also loved to surf in his younger days. He always challenged himself to become one with the elements that would test him to his fullest. He has left many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved him that will last their lifetimes. His friends and family will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Throughout his entire life, Bo held an unwavering faith in God, which He shared with those who surrounded him. His spiritual journey was strenuous and therefore hard-won. As a young person, he made a profession of Christian faith and was active in the church. He later parted ways with organized religion, but he never left behind the teachings of Christ—he was a principled man of integrity always in search of the truth. In his final years, he deeply contemplated and practiced his faith, becoming full circle in his relationship with the Lord our God.
Bo kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. His pleasant personality and most awesome smile were contagious to everyone he met. He could bring a smile to your face and laugh along at you and with you. He had a great sense of humor and he had many stories to tell of his adventurous life that will live on infinitely.
Bo, a biological father to one, and a father figure, mentor and brother to many will be sorely missed and forever remembered. What a beautiful life!
