CHARLENE PUANANI "CHAR" HELEKAHI, 49, of Waipahu and formerly of Papakolea, passed away June 12, 2013. Born on October 13, 1963 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Char was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1981, and was formerly employed at Cookie's World of Flowers and at the Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel.
Being a very outgoing and loving person, it was very easy for her to form friendships. She enjoyed flower arranging, money-lei making, arts and crafts, and listening to all kinds of music. Her great love was the beach and camping out with her friends and family; she so loved her family. She will always be in our hearts.
Charlene is survived by her caregiver, Patty Ann Dela Cruz; father, Edward M. Helekahi, Jr.; sister, Sandra Helekahi; hanai son, Edward M. Helekahi IV.
Visitation is from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Borthwick Mortuary-Maunakea Chapel (1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817). Service is at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Lei are welcome.
