Clifford Dodie Mercado

Clifford Dodie Mercado, age 86, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii was called home on July 29, 2022. Born on October 31, 1935, to Dolore Rivera and Theresa (née Gerald) Mercado in Kaimuki, he was eldest of three children.

Clifford was educated in the catholic faith and was a proud graduate of Saint Louis College's Class of 1953. Upon graduation from high school, Clifford enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Japan and Korea. Clifford retired from the Hawaiian Telephone Company after 30 years then went on to work for Kaiser Permanente and contracted with the Hawaii Medical Service Association as a telecommunications specialist.

Clifford is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia R. Acido-Mercado, daughter Maile Padilla (David), grand-daughter Micaela Padilla, grand-son Ricardo Padilla (Jessica), daughter Denise Ann Dilliner (Samuel), grand-daughters Madisen, Monique, and Makayla, daughter Lisa Marie Souza (Lyle), grand-daughter Taylor Marie, step-son Lon Wilson (Marybeth) grand-son Rylan and grand-daughters Camryn and Lily, step-son Max Wilson, grand-son Quest and grand-daughter Journey, and step-daughter Wendee Wilson, grand-son 'Kamana', six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Mercado, sister Joyce Woodd, and daughter Darlene (née Aguda) Rosado.

A visitation for Clifford will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a service through 3:00 p.m., at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, HI. Private inurnment at Punchbowl - National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on a later date.
