I met Donald here in Okinawa in 2012. He was the first person to tell me about getting my VA Compensation for my Combat injuries. I took his advice and I was awarded my VA Compensation in 2014. Thanks to the help of a fellow Veteran who has helped hundreds of veterans to get their benefits to. RIP brother 

I met Don Devaney here in Okinawa in 2013 and I liked him. My wife is i went to Hawaii for our vacation in April and May 2016. Don and his family invited us over to visit with in their home. We did visit and they had a wonderful Supper prepared for us., I was saddened to hear that Don had passed away. May he lie in repose with our Heavenly Father in Heaven forever. Sayonara brother. 

Donald and the Devaneys are family to the Mouris from time spent together at West Point.  That is the blessing of being a military family member.  The curse is you become complacent and believe they will always be around and can easily pick up where you last left off.  We are surprised we did not hear the sad news earlier through the grapevine.  We deeply regret the lost opportunity to reconnect last summer.

Aloha Tokiko, George & Vivian,I am so sorry to learn of Don's passing and regret not taking the time to drop by after seeing all of you in Tripler outpatient last July.  I told my parents about seeing you again and they meant to contact you also.  I tried to email you recently and the email bounced back so I decided to google you when I learned of Don's death.  My parents, Daisy & Frank, send their love and condolences from the Shenandoah Valley and I will call you when I return to the islands at the end of the month.My dad greatly respected Don because he was a leader and bridged the green to gold by serving both as a CSM on active duty and PM field grade officer in the reserves.  He led by example and always took care of his men and their families.  I was honored to have Don as a mentor and strived to live up to his example during my own reserve military career.We have all lost a wonderful warrior, true gentleman and great role model and the world is not the same because of it.love, Mike Mouri

My heart hurts to learn of my cousin's passing.  The miles and the years have kept us apart far more than I wanted, but he was always close to my heart.  I've saved our correspondence, the photographs and the gifts he's given me over the years, with the greatest gift of all being the memories I have of the wonderful times we shared. With love eternal....

CSM Devaney was one of my superiors back in the 1970's when I was an MP stationed in Hawaii. I just found out of his passing and am devastated. My heart is HEAVY and my soul just hurts. I would have gone to his funeral had I known when it happened. Hans Strayer

My late husband Ron and I brought the Sonitrol franchise to Hawaii in 1983 and Don was an active member of the HJPA, where we first met him. Don was one of the "senior historians" in the "You're From Warwick, And You're Over 50 If..." group, who regaled us with stories of a time many of us remember only vaguely.  As a veteran myself, I understand and appreciate the magnitude of Don's service to God and country in uniform and beyond.  We all miss him terribly.

Everybody were mention of your empowered humanism today, I am an one of them. I won't forget your encouragement to my retirement. RIP dear my friend.... I will be miss you.

To the Devaney Family. I was so grieved to learn of Don's death.  I grew up in Warwick as he did and stayed in touch mostly thru FB.  Don was a wonderful, generous man and will be dearly missed.  My sincere sympathy to all.

Don and I served with Advisory Team 96, in Vietnam in 1965. A couple of years ago we again connected and then met for lunch in Hawaii, I believe this past November 2015.

I again was just visiting my son and his family in late July and early August and just missed his passing. I recently emailed him letting him know I was returning to Vietnam after fifty years. He told me where we exactly were was now a hotel.

Please accept my sincere condolences. He spoke of you when we met. I am pleased he reached out to me and that we met. We had a lot to remember.

Don certainly live a vivid and full life. God cherish him.
