Edwin Mitsuo Sato, 75, Colonel, AUS (Retired), passed away at Queen’s Medical on January 28, 2014. Born in Pahala, Hawaii, Ed was a patriotic and proud American and a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He was a loyal member of the Pearl City Lions Club and volunteered in many other organizations such as the YMCA and Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii. Ed achieved a Master’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree of Public Health from the University of Hawaii. Ed leaves his beloved wife Lucille Nakamoto-Sato, his three children Laurilyn, Garret, and Grant Sato, step-mother Thelma Sato, brother James, two step children, three step grand children, and his beloved cat Mei Mei. Visitation 10 a.m, Feb 22 at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel. Services 11 a.m. Burial on Monday, Feb 24, 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery, Punchbowl.
