

He was a former Construction General Superintendent with Haas and Haynie Construction Company and Vice President of Fletcher Pacific Construction Company. He will be remembered for the many resorts, skyscrapers and buildings he constructed throughout the Pacific, including Hawaii, Arizona and California.
He was a proud loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a World War II Veteran.
Among his greatest accomplishments was his service to his country as a Marine during World War II, the monument he erected to commemorate those who died during the WWII battle of Tawara and the Distinguished Service Award presented to him by the President of the United States, on behalf of the Second Marine Division in 1989.
He is preceded in death by his son George “Moose” Powers, great granddaughter, Kassandra and sister Marguerite Rowell. He is survived by his wife Hiroko; his daughters, Karen, Nancy, Amy, Julie, Kelly and Akiko; son, Joseph; sister, Mary Clark; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
