An invite to lunch sparks a story: “Let’s meet at that little place by the airport,” Larry suggests casually. When we meet in the parking lot, he surprises me by adding, “How about we have lunch on Maui instead?” Intrigued, I wonder what he’s up to. Soon, we’re heading to a small hangar nearby, where Larry, without much explanation, leads me to a two-seater aircraft. I know he’s a capable pilot, but this is a first for me, and a touch of apprehension settles in as I watch Honolulu fade behind us.

Our flight begins smoothly, with Larry expertly handling radio communications. But as we approach Maui, the weather shifts—and the plane is pushed forcefully sideways by a strong crosswind. For a moment, I hold my breath, fearing the worst, but Larry responds with calm mastery. We land safely, and as we roll to a stop, I look at him with awe. He simply shrugs and says, “Wow, that was cool!” 

What started as a regular lunch invitation turned into an unforgettable adventure—a daring flight with a master pilot that left us both exhilarated and grateful for the experience. 

Larry will be missed.....

Dear Raynelle & James,

My thoughts, prayers and condolences!  In the Navy, was say, Fair Winds and Following Seas to Larry Glenn Cobb!   That traditional Navy wish, is appropriate to a man who loves sailing ⛵️  on the seas!

I remember the very 1st time I met Larry, when he was in the Condo Association Management Business, and I had software to Association Management.  We became instant friend, then I felt I became instant family member of the Cobb Family!  

I got married on the mainland, both Larry and Raynelle where part of out wedding!   After moving to Florida, Larry and Raynelle and James where our 1st visitors.  Larry and Raynelle came again to visit.  All 3 daughters visited the Cobb Family in Hawaii!

I know Larry is in a much better place today!  I wish I had even 10% of Larry's calm and peaceful demeanor and kindness!   I have so many great personal and professional memories!  Many beer drinking memories!

Raynelle and James, I will see you both soon!  We will share some Larry stories!

RIP my dear friend!

Larry, my high school classmate, my roommate, my dear friend!  Quiet, good sense of humor and strong.  Family man!  Fond memories.
