MARY JANE KON ROBINS, 80, of Waimanalo, Oahu, passed away May 2, 2013 in Kailua, Hawaii. Born September 15, 1932 in Honolulu to parents William Kon and Mary Kauo Mersberg Kon, Mary Jane was a homemaker, although she did work for a while for the Dole Pineapple Company. Working in the yard with her plants was a favorite past time; her hands were always “in the dirt”.
She is survived by sons, Douglas Hirata, Earl (Linda) Hirata, Sr. of Burkburnette, TX, Yukinobu (Bernadette) Hirata, Jr. and Leslie (Kathleen) Hirata; daughters, Dynette (Bobby) Kanuha of Maui, Kathy Jane Balocon and Waynette Robins; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Kon, Sr., James Kon, Harry Kon and Eugene Kon; sisters, Pearl McKay of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Balocon, Violet Armalza of Kauai.
