So sorry for your loss but she lives on in the Hearts and minds of all who loved her for a lifetime.
I have been and will be forever grateful for the warmth and kindness shown to me by William and Mary Rust. Opening up their home to me and the memories of that time I have carried with me all of my life. It was Summer of 1977 and I was given the wonderful opportunity to stay for a while with the Rust’s and Bridget and Buck Moss. 
I remember Mr. and Mrs. Rust as Wonderful, giving people whom I am sure will be greatly 
missed.

I am saddened to learn of Mary Anna’s passing. She was my landlord at 1717 Mott Smith Drive in the 80’s at a pivotal time in life when this young woman took on the adventures of traveling and the challenges of searching for a comfortable place to call home. I couldn’t have asked for a more gracious landlord. I did know her beyond being a landlord but I wish I had. I’ve always remembered her fondly and always will. My respect and condolences to her family and loved ones.

Mary Anna Zagorda was born of Joseph and Mary Zagorda (who emigrated from Poland) in Philadelphia, PA.   Mary was the last of seven children, was born 19th of April, 1925 and was raised during the great depression. She graduated from Kensignton High School in 1943.
She was an entertainer and singer and was part of a troop of traveling entertainers specially commissioned by General McArthur to entertain the troops fighting the Korean War in Okinawa Japan where she met lieutenant James W Rust.  
They married and had five children while traveling the world.  They lived in France, New York, Baton Rouge Louisiana, St. Johns Newfoundland, Tehran Iran, Ohio, finally settling in Hawaii in 1969.  There she spent the final fifty years of her life.
Mary Anna was a woman small in stature, stood her ground, and was not to be toiled with. She deeply loved and fought for her family.  She was an entertainer, singer, playwright, author of children’s books, real estate broker, mother of five, grandmother of 12, and great grandmother of 13.
Preceded in death by husband James W. Rust in April 2010 and daughter-in-law, Connie Rust (James II). She will be inurned  with him at Punchbowl National Cemetery.
Survivors include her five children James Christopher Rust (children: Jason and Joshua Rust), Bridget McCarthy (children: Meggan McCarthy, Sarah McCarthy-Garcia, Pete McCarthy,and Danny McCarthy), James Rust (children: Jennifer and James Rust), Kenny Rust (wife Christine, son Dane), Marc Rust (wife Jen, children: Noah, Samantha and Lucy). 
Along with her children and grandchildren, she leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren: David, Kaya, Rylee, Shannon, Evan, Kennedy, Daisy, Myles, Sunny, Ginger, Nolan, Woods, and Lucas. With two more great grandchildren on the way, she will be missed.
