Thought of you a lot this March.  This year was better than it has been in the past.  It helped that mom came to visit during Holy Week and we talked.  The flight over was rough for her;  her hand carry was too heavy and she did not hear her flight being called so she missed her flight to Atlanta and had to be booked on a later flight.  She enjoyed her visit, however, the dogs(Kona and Boolit) would bark when she walked down the hallway.  She said they are too protective of me. Kristopher got married on January 20 of this year. He is stationed at TAFB, OK.  I am glad to be able to talk with you this way.  Thanks for listening and love you very much. Aloha Oe

It's a long while.  I am having some trouble with keeping the faith.  It's been awhile since we attended mas regularly. Kris joined the Navy, following in your footsteps; am proud of him.

 It's been awhile.  I miss you very much.  The Lenten season was tough.  Stitch got sick and had a spleenectomy.  He had a mass that attached to his spleen.  He stayed tough, but could not reprodure enough red blood cells.  His cancer would attack his blood cells.  He died on Palm Sunday at home, and he sits by the tv and keeps on eye on us.  I'm preparing a talk for the Women's ACTS retreat this coming weekend.  Its been a challenge and trying to stay ahead with homework and everything else.  Everyone is fine.  Will call Mom later this evening.  I love and miss you always.  See you guys at the rainbow bridge.

How I have missed you. Sorry its been awhile. Mom took a trip to France and Italy with Auntie Vicky, her family along with Tere and Donald. She had a good time, not sure if she had enough spending money.  She didn't complain.  I recently attended the GA ACTS Women's retreat.  It felt good to reconnect my relationship with God.  It was like when we were in Cocoa Beach.I was happy in the church. As yu know, what happens at the river stays there; not much I can share with you. However, I do feel that I can talk to God.  I know that he loves me, knows me, has mercy for he knows I'm a sinner. Mike and I will try to attend mass regularly. Thanks for being there for me all those times. I love you dearly.

Mele Kalikimaka Maligayamg Pasko.I have missed you.  Remembering when you would make the parol and setting up the lights. The trips when we went to Washington DC to visit your friend.  The summer trips to the aquarium and seeing that big brown bear above the street. Lov 'n miss you dearly.  I a found the picture of you and tatay with michel them at the airport for Nita's wedding. Happy Thanksgiving Dad.  I miss u dearly.  Sorry it's been so long. I have thought of you often and talked to you.  I forgot to wish you Happy Veteran's day and thank you for your service to your country.  I'm proud of you for that and the fight for freedom.  Thank you.  I am thankful to you. Hi Grandpa, sorry it's been a while since I last wrote. We have been super busy and away from home. As you know Ryan was sick for 2 months, hospitalized 3 times, had a liver biopsy, and a near death experience. It's been a long 3 months and I hated seeing him go through so much and not be able to do lot to help him. I thank God that his mom was in the hospital with him after his biopsy. We are now going to church at St. Patrick's every Sunday and we are enjoying our time of praise. The kiddos remind me to say their night-night prayer before bed and they enjoy that time. I called Grandma Tuesday to wish her "Happy Birthday" her and Michel had to work so hopefully they can do something this weekend to celebrate. She said that they were doing good and that she was wanting to come visit during Christmas this year since she has travel plans for next year. Auntie Vicki and her are taking a European tour July of 2012. That sounds AMAZING. I've always wanted to visit London. She could only remember a few places they were going to visit. The Vatican was one of them, I can't imaging how exciting that will be. Mom and Dad are on a cruise and should be back Sunday. Kris is doing well, and his girlfriend Amy is nice. We like her! Xander is at mom's house along with Stitch and Kona (was Kris' dog) and Keala is here with us at the apartment. Jacob is in Pre-K, doing well for the most part. His main obstacle is not listening and following directions. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree on that one. Jacob is just like me and Audrey is just like Ryan. It's amazing how someone so tiny can be so challenging. Audrey is chilling at the house with me having girl time! But she asks me everyday where Jacob is. She misses him a lot while he's at school. Everyone is doing well and I believe that we are all closer since Ryan's been sick. 

Well I must retire, I miss you and love you very much. Say hello to Herman, Pop-Pop, Uncle Ben, Uncle Albert, Auntie Cari, Apo, and the pups.

Wanted to say Happy Labor Day.  Been awhile since we last talked.  I miss you dearly, sometime it hits hard.  I want to include Happy Grandparent Day, Jacob will be having a tea at his pre-K school.  Looking forward to joining him.  Talked with mom lately, she seems fine. Lov u.

Happy 4th of July.  I love u dad.  I remember going to watch the fireworks.  We watched them here Friday night.  Tonight we plan to watch Macy's and Boston Pop's.  Sorry I didn't wish you Happy Father's Day, was attending a massage class for cancer and the medically fragile clients.  By Sunday afternoon, I was sad and cried uncontrolably.  I later realized how much I miss you.  I bet you have beautiful fireworks up there. Aloha to all who are there with you. Love you.

I love dad.  I miss you dearly.  Had memory flashbacks, like when we went fishing in the early mornings at the pier in Patrick AFB.  All those puffer fish, boy did they stink.  I'm glad to have had you as my dad.  Thanks for the advice and help over the years. Uncle is there and you guys can catch up.

I love and miss you very much Grandpa. I hope that you and Pop-Pop are catching up and relaxing. Ryan's Grandpa joined you two days before Pop-Pop did. I know you greeted him with the same aloha spirit you would have here on earth had you met in person! Say hello to Apo for me. I miss his as well! I am working on a tattoo memorial for the family that I have loved and lost. I love you and enjoy your first Easter with the Lord!

Alittle belated I wanted to thank you for serving in the US Navy and Air Force to help preserve our freedom.  I'm proud to know that your served in a few wars and earned medals for the sacrifes.  Happy Veterans Day.  
Talked with mom last week, I feel more comfortable about the cross she is being, it sounds like she has things under control and knows where she is headed.  
I'm sorry for not talking with you in awhile.  I still miss you dearly.  I try to talk with you at night. Jacob and Audrey are growing fast.  She thinks she is a princess and Jacob likes to play with his big pow pow.  They are great together. I'm proud of Ashlea and Ryan, how they are raising their kids and living their lives the best they can.  Luv u

Dad, I love and miss you dearly.  Mom is going thru a rough patch here lately.  Had alittle trouble at work and some health issues.  I know you probably know all this already.  I wanted to share with you.  It helps me to deal with all that is going on.
I recently moved job locations.  Mint Julip Salon and Spa is my new location.  Its about 5-10mins from the house with less traffic.  I have your Relay for Life survivor sign and now you have In memory of sign.  I dearly miss you.  Called and talked with mom, she is holding her own.  Luv you

Happy Birthday Grandpa (Apo). We love and miss you very much. There is not a day that goes by in which I don't think about you. I wonder if this is one of the best birthdays you have had. Tell Great Grandpa hello and that we love and miss him too. Hope Kayla is keeping you company! Love you!

To Cita, Mrs. Mananaquil and your family, may time help to lessen the pain of your loss and make it possible to remember the happy times shared with your father, husband, grandfather and friend.  May the candle reflect the love shared.

I know that it's belated and although you are not physical with us; I want to wish you Happy Father's day.  I miss being able to call on the phone and talk with you.  Even though I have been talking with you at night after my prayers.  I don't want to forget you and all the things you have taught me and my family.  Mom, Michel and I made a dedication in honor of you and papa z in the 12th annual Lantern Floating event on May 31.  It was beautiful and peaceful.  All the lanterns were beautiful and symbolic of peace and comfort.  Like with a flower lei place out to sea and awaiting it's return to shore.  I know that I will see you again. I luv you dearly dad.

Our dad was always reading booklets about saints, angels, people who where ordinary, but had unlimited faith in God. I recently read in Living Faith, Courage in Darkness "MY FATHER DIED a few years ago.  In the month he spent in  hospitals enduring procedures that ultimaltely failed, I often found myself reciting this phase like a mantra, alternating between "his soul" and "my soul."  It helped me believe that the discomforts and indignities of Dad's final days were not going to be his ultimate end.
  I didn't always believe the words of the psalm, but I clung to them like a small flashlight trying to illumate the dark, descending stairway on the journey of life.  In truth, I would have rather turned and fled back up the stairs into my youth.  But, alas, the arrow of time forbids that.  So I wrapped my hands tightly around my flashlight of words, seeking the courage to continue stepping into the future.  Aileen A. O'Donoghue

Dad had a way of letting us know how he felt, even when he couldn't speak.  This has helped ease the grief and pain these past couple of months.  Dad, thank you sharing with me the foundation of your strength in God.

I have found comfort in a talk I had with Fr Fred Nigem. He told me that like God our dad is everywhere. I can talk with him whenever I'd like.  That we are all made up of energy and thus are everywhere.  I talk with dad and God as I feel the need.

When Tatay Nangkil passed away I remember Kuya Jesus came up with a quote from the Bible "Even before the World was made, God already chosen us to be His." We were so moved by that quote that we use that as epitaph on our Dad's tombstone.

Kuya Jesus became a part of our life when our Dad (Tatay Nangkil) passed away.  He would call once in a while, at home or my cell phone and check on "Auntie" (as he calls my Mom), and my brothers Roy & Gil.  Kuya Jesus has always reminded me of my Dad that I was always glad to hear from him.  I am going to miss my "phone pal".  Ate Audrey, thank you for sharing Kuya with us. I only met him once...but he such a gracious man...he had to have been a wonderful person.  He raised a beautiful daughter.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know he's in heaven with God looking down on you all and smiling with pride and love.
