Dear Ryland,

You were such a wonderful part of our lives. You welcomed Matt as a member of your class at Maryknoll--a time that was pretty scary for a newby to a new school environment. You also welcomed him to the Pac5 soccer team and together you all made a strong Wolfpack team! It was wonderful to watch you all grow and become "soccer brothers".

Thank you for  being an amazing young man. Thank you for all of the huge, warm hugs you gave every time we saw each other.  Thank you for all the warm smiles that automatically came with your huge, warm hugs. 

I will miss your one word responses whenever a question was asked of you.  Your sense of humor was like no other and that alone made you pretty special.

Our ohana has a lot of healing to do, but remembering  you for being so loving and caring and warm and special is a first step.

We will never forget you and you will forever be in our hearts. We love you, Ryland!

My name is Bryson Doan. I was a fellow classmate of Ryland and he was a important person to me. His personality and physical fitness pushed me into becoming a better person. While we exchanged few words we did spend a lot of time together just having fun. I miss you so much Ryland.



I have gotten to know Ryland over the past several years through soccer.  We travelled from Rush, Slammers and Fuerza and played together for Pac5 soccer. Through all of the years of playing with Ryland, I never saw him get frustrated. The soccer field really brought about his good virtues. He was slow to anger, dedicated, had a strong work ethic and would always be willing to learn some new moves with me. Not only did I look up to Ryland on the soccer field, but also in life. He was always so friendly to not only me, but everyone that I saw him make contact with. Ryland will always be living in my memories. 
I am praying for you Aunty Christine and Uncle Joey, your son made a big impact on my life and I will miss my brother.

Over the years that I have known Ryland, he has grown to be a very uplifting and goal oriented young man. He was always a hard worker in the gym and a pleasant young man to talk to.

The Faith
Love and Hugs

We have so many fond memories of Ryland during the boys' soccer years together! There is overwhelming grief taking place around the world as we mourn the loss of your precious son. Ryland was a kind, respectful young man. We will always count him as a special blessing to our family... such a gift that we were able to watch him transform from a boy to a man, to see his soccer skills develop from season to season, to spend time bonding at the beach or on the golf course (as this picture depicts from Pac Five). We became ohana and will continue to be, because of our boys.

 In your mourning, we lift your family to the Lord to carry you through this tremendous heartache and grief. We send our deepest sympathy and all of our love and prayers. Ryland will always be in our hearts. Thank you for sharing your son with us, Joey & Christine. We love you both.

I was blessed to have the privilege of coaching Ryland for 2 great seasons in his intermediate years. In his first season he got the nickname Ry-Ry, his mother told me it stuck with him till he graduated! He was a great player who developed his left foot over time😉😎!
