Tenny Hoon Tom, 89, died peacefully at home on July 30, 2015. He was born in Honolulu, the son of Wai Kim Tom and Tong Loy Lum. Tenny graduated from McKinley High School, the University of Hawaii, and earned advanced law degrees from Ohio State University and New York University. After practicing law in Honolulu independently and as an Assistant Attorney General, he taught business law at Kapiolani Community College.
He was predeceased by beloved brothers and sisters Ellen, Kon Hung, Volt, Chow Loy, and Mee Lin Tom; and is survived by children Kimberly Nichols, Tammy Tom, Chance Tom, and grandchildren Chayote Tomdasa, Ursula Nichols, Meili Tomdasa, and Judy Nichols.
Tenny was an avid tennis player, and, following his retirement, an enthusiastic ballroom dancer. He will be missed by his former students and many, many friends.
