It’s been a month since we laid my mom to rest, 2 months since she’s passed & 3 since we’ve been without her (counting the days she’s been in the hospital). After she left this world I had to constantly convince myself that my mom is just away on a vacation or something. A long one so it seems. I met and grew closer to God since my mom was in the hospital, fasting, praying, reading and holding onto the hope that she would come home to us. There is no pain greater than that of losing a loved one, your parent in fact, but there is no greater love than the love of God and my mom always knew that and taught us that. I’m comforted with the thought that my mom walks alongside our many family members and our creator. She is free from all things here on earth. A memory that I want to share is from 2 years ago. my partner and I had lost our first baby and my mom took us to the ER. She sat with us in the room for about 2-3 hours, just waiting on blood work. She sat there patiently waiting with us, not even a complaint. It was time for me to get on the bed and the doctor had to check me, when she had finished she apologized and told me that I had miscarried. She stepped out and me being too shy to cry in front of my mom, I just laid still and silently cried. My mom being the amazing woman she is, stood up and hovered over me, gave me a hug and said “I’m sorry, you’re okay.” “Next time.” Her warm embrace and her comfort was enough to get me out of that time of my life. She has been with me throughout every pregnancy and every loss. Everything was always easier with my mom being here. I’m truly blessed to have had such an amazing mother. She was a woman full of life, with a vibrant smile and personality. She was top tier and we could never forget her. I love you always my beautiful mommy.  

All memories of you have become so fond to me. Every picture I see with your beautiful smile, every video I see just to hear your voice, or when someone tells me about their memory about you is priceless. How can a daughter forget her own Mother? I hold every memory I have of you so dear to me that I'm afraid that I will forget them. No matter how many years go by, I will never forget you Mommy. The last memory I have of you before you fell ill is when you called me and asked me if I wanted to eat chicken soup you had just made. I wouldn't even have to say a word and you always knew what I craved that day. It must've been a Mothers instinct huh? I find myself waking up every morning looking at my phone as if I'll see a message or call from you. I never knew how much I would miss seeing "MOM" in my recent call list or messenger or how empty it would feel to not be able to even call out, "MOM". Mommy, my heart is so sore and I can't even vent to the one person who would hear my pain whenever I was down. The nights have become so long and I try my best to distract myself from thinking about you because my heart continues to look for you. This is one of the hardest things that I ever had to face in my life because before you took your last breath, I birthed your granddaughter, Mahani Meafou. I became a new Mother while losing you and I could never make sense of why it happened that way. You always told me to Trust in God no matter what, even if it didn't make sense. It's not that I don't trust Him...I just miss your presence so much Mommy. You were one of the most important people in my life, top of the list as a matter of fact. You always pulled me out of the ruins of disaster because you loved me. I now know that nobody is gonna love me the way you loved me and I could only realize that in your absence. Thank you Mommy for everything you've done for me. You are the best Mom in the whole wide world and nobody will ever take your place. I love you and miss you so much!

Aunty Meafou is my dads sister, My Dad Fuamatu Fetui Ioane recently passed few months ago.. Aunty Meafou was like my 2nd mom, me and my oldest sister lived with her for more than 10yrs, she was always a humble and loving person, always took care of us and always did anything we wanted....
 I still cant believe your gone aunty, you, daddy and uncle kovia left soooo soon and you will always be missed...
We love u sooo much aunty, Kisses to the skies for all of you and please hug everyone and esp my daddy for us... Thank you for loving us and for taking care of us, Forever in our hearts....

RIP MEAFOU

I have so much fond memories to choose from but mommy this was my favorite memory of you this year. This year we put uncle Kovia to rest, your dear brother. I know you were hurting but I know how much it meant for you to put him to rest peacefully. On this day you danced and rejoiced in place of uncle Kovia because you said thats what uncle would be doing. "Uncle is not here so I will dance for him". The way you looked so happy to show your family via zoom how much we should be celebrating life. You are the reason we will celebrate these days. Your smile is a smile I will never forget. Your laugh, is the sweetest and calmest sound I will forever long. I miss you mommy. Please continue to watch over papa and visit him in his dreams. Alofa atu💛
