At the age of 12, Wayne discovered a love for golf that would remain with him throughout his life, shaping lasting friendships and creating countless memories both on and off the course.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Kahuku High School and later returned to the school that shaped him, dedicating over 25 years as a Mathematics teacher. Through his quiet presence, steady guidance, and unwavering commitment to his students, Wayne touched generations of young lives. He never sought recognition, yet his influence as an educator and golf coach left a lasting imprint on the Kahuku community.
In retirement, Wayne embraced a life well-earned, spending his days golfing and traveling—venturing from the “9th Island” and beyond as he explored the world with curiosity and quiet appreciation.
Wayne found deep joy in his role as a grandfather to his four grandchildren. He cherished time spent babysitting, sharing simple moments, and sneaking off for special treats at Wendy’s and McDonald’s—memories his grandchildren will hold close forever.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Lynette; his son, Michael (Bree); his daughter, Becki (Dan); his grandchildren, Ryu, Cammy, Micah, and Brennan; and his brother, Earl (Barbara).
A man of few words who preferred to stay out of the spotlight, Wayne’s life was defined by humility, dedication, and love for his family and community. Though quiet in nature, his legacy speaks loudly through the many lives he shaped and the family who loved him deeply.
