He was preceded in death by wife, Jean Bailey Wood; grandson, Nicolas Jurgonski; father, Fred Wood; mother, Marguerite Gross Wood; brother, Fred Wood, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Dave Cooley.

Left to cherish his memories are wife, Dottie Warren; children, Susan Wood of High Point, Daniel Wood of Plymouth, IN, and Marilyn Wood Jurjonski and husband John of South Bend, IN; step-children, Daniel , William, Anthony, and Thomas Hammond and their spouses; four grandchildren, Katherine (Kadi) Wood, Heather Jurgonski, Timothy Jurgonski, and Anna Jurgonski; 16 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, George Wood and wife Marsha, Bill Wood and wife Susan, Charles and wife Kelly, and John Wood and wife Janet; sisters, Jean Wood Cooley and Margie Wood Dameron; step-mother Eldora Wood of Pinehurst; brother-in-law, Ken Bailey; and 14 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Reeves Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Reeves Funeral Home Chapel.

He will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinehurst, NC.
