

Jeanette "Kay" Easom, cherished and deeply loved, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 4, 1940, to Willie and Ola Benton, Jeanette was the seventh of ten children. Her early life was filled with fond memories of swimming with family and friends in Hope Mills Lake and playing softball.
In April 1967, Kay married Martin "Jr" Easom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ola Benton, and eight of her siblings. She is survived by her husband, Martin "Jr" Easom, and their children: George Tarrant and his wife Kristy, Scott Easom and his wife Karen, and Hope Hall and her husband Charles. Kay's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Allie Schofield and her husband Sean, Daniel Tarrant and his wife Amy, and Madison Hall, as well as her great-grandchildren, Zack, Olivia, Gavin, Liam, and Jackson. She also leaves behind her brother, Michael Wayne Benton.
Kay was an honest and devoted member of Southview Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and led the Joy Club. She had a love for travel, having visited New York, Cancun, Colorado, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, and enjoyed going on cruises.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on January 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Reeves Funeral Home, located at 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina, 28348. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location. Burial will take place at Hope Mills Cemetery, 5308 Brower Trail, Hope Mills, North Carolina, 28348.
Kay will be remembered for her cherished presence, humor, and honesty, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
