John Melvin Love

Mr. Love was born in Johnston County on December 1, 1935 the son of the late John Cader Love & Rosie Blackmon Love and is preceded in death by his brother, William David Love, grandson, Ian T. Love and a sister-in-law, Jackie Love.

Mr. Love graduated from Cleveland High School in 1954, then went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. where he received a bachelors in accounting.

He was a retired accountant with the State of North Carolina. He was a member of Foundations Bible Collegiate Church in Dunn where he served as a deacon and was honored with the title of Deacon Emeritus. He was an Army Reserve Veteran serving in the 3274th hospital unit.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at Foundation Bible College Church with Dr. H.T. Spence & Dr. Dennis Lowry officiating. There will be an interment service at 2:00 pm at Hills of the Neuse Cemetery in Smithfield.

He is survived by: his wife of 63 years: Gwyn Batten Love of the Home.

Sons: John E. Love & (wife) Maxine of Goldsboro, NC. & Ross G. Love of Dunn, NC.

Grandson: William G. Love of Goldsboro, NC

Twin Brother: Elvin C. Love of Raleigh, NC and other Brothers, Tommie Love & (wife) Marilyn of Clayton, NC; Gene D. Love & (wife) Elizabeth of Dunn, NC.

Sister-in-law: Linda Love of Raleigh, NC.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Foundations Bible College Church in Dunn. One hour prior to the service.
