Josephine Messer Norris

On Wednesday September 27, 2023, early in the morning at her home Josephine Norris went to her heavenly home. Josephine was born July 6, 1928, in Harnett County to the late John Frank Messer and Ellie Frances Turlington Messer.

She is proceeded in death by her Husband of 78 years, Richard “Bo” Norris, Son Tommy Norris, Brothers Melvin Messer, Raymond Messer and Earl Messer, Sister Eula Francis Faith and Grandson Milton Lockamy.

Josephine was a godly woman who loved her family and church family dearly. She was a member of Faith Covenant Family Church of Dunn. She dedicated her life to the church and following God’s word. Josephine had many careers throughout her life, but the church and childcare was her passion.

She loved the beach and to go fishing, everyone knew not to touch her cane poles.

Left to honor her memory is her Son, George Norris, daughter Kathy Lockamy (Nathan), Grandchildren Kim and William Gay, Kathryn and Charles Blumell, Michelle and Richard Royal, Brandon and Crystal Norris, Mary Parrish, Great Grandchildren, Kelly Wood, Maddison Wood, Jamie Lynn and Jonathan Bayles, Rochelle and Nick Weeks, Precious Mendez, Alex Massey, Zachary Massey, Nathan Blumell, David Parrish, Brandon Norris, Scott Norris, Brandon Michael and Ocean Norris and Victoria Norris, Great Great Grandchildren, Davanee Weeks, Ava Mendez, Axi Scott, Adeline Wood, River Bayles and Brandon Allen Norris.

The visitation for Josephine will be Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funerals and Cremation, with the service the following day Monday, October 2, 2023, 11:00 am at Faith Covenant Family Church with Pastor Joe Ammons officiating. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens.
