Leonard Donzie Thompson Sr.

He was born on August 17, 1929 in Four Oaks, NC, to the late David Hubert and Sophia Guyen Thompson.

The family received friends from 7pm to 9pm Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills, NC.

Funeral services was held at 12:30pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Reeves Funeral Home chapel. Burial with full military honors followed at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. Thompson; five sons, Leonard D. Thompson, Jr., Richard Pixley, Tommy Pixley, Ronnie Pixley, and Butch Pixley; sister, Sophie Collier; and two brothers, Joseph Thompson and William Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Jerry Thompson and his wife Ann of Hope Mills, Mike Thompson and his wife Cindy of Clayton, NC, and Jeff Pixley and his wife Faith of Machias, NY; three sisters, Beadie Wheeler of Pikeville, NC, Marie Thompson of Raleigh, NC, and Katie Bell Edelen of Florida; brother, Kenneth Thompson of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 15 nieces; and 8 nephews.

Mr. Thompson was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
