Mabel Ester (Martin) Thompkins

Mabel Ester (Martin) Thompkins, age 80, of Fayetteville, North Carolina went to her eternal home in the morning hours onTuesday, March 15, 2022. Mabel was born April 23, 1941 to the late, Orian and Letha Martin.

Mrs. Mabel or Sister Mabel as she was known by her church family was a dedicated christian and loved serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a mentor in the church to many and was always active in helping to assist in any way she could. She served as a Womens Group Leader and was on the Board of Wesleyan Pentacostal Church and served many years. In her free time she could often be found sewing and working on her crafts. Mabel loved cooking and providing delicious meals for her family and friends. When she was not working on her sewing and crafts and she couldn't be found in the kitchen, she could be found enjoying the bountiful fruit of her labor in her garden and flower beds.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Brigman and his fiance Betty Gilbertson of Norfolk, Virginia and Dale Brigman and his wife Lynne of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a brother, Wesley Martin and his wife Sadie; a sister, Sarah Jane Saunders; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mabel was preceeded in passing by her loving husband, Buford Thompkins.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held in the Reeves Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, March 19 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Allen Phillips officiating. A visitation with Family and Friends will be held before the service from 9 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. Mabel will be laid to rest beside her beloved Husband in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
