Margaret Beasley Core

Dunn, NC Margaret Beasley Core passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Cornerstone Nursing & Rehab of Dunn. Mrs. Core was born in Oriental, Pamlico County on August 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Robert Cleveland “Bud” and Mabel Lee Beasley and is preceded in death by her husband, James “Vernon” Core, a son, Vernon “Glenn” Core, 10 brothers & 3 sisters. She returned to the Plain View Community in 1959. She was a member of Lee’s Chapel O.F.B. Baptist Church and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts but especially making quilts. She retired from the former Charles Parrish Nursing Center as a certified nursing assistant. She was the middle child of 17 siblings. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Warren Officiating. Burial will follow in Lee’s Chapel/ Williford Cemetery. She is survived by: Daughter-in-law, Annette Dorman Core of Dunn, A Daughter: Sheila Core Jackson & husband Billy of Dunn,4 Grandchildren, 4 Step-Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Brothers: Charles Beasley of Dunn and Orval Beasley & wife Carrie of Clinton, Sister: Iris Lassiter of Aulander Brothers-in-law: Dalma Lee Core & wife Peggy; John L. Core & wife Patricia all of Dunn, Sisters-in-law: Willie Beasley of Four Oaks, Rosita Massey & husband Wilbert of Faison and Several Nieces and Nephews.
