Our beloved mother, Mary Catherine Parker, age 80, gained her Heavenly home Saturday, September 25, 2021. Catherine was born on September 20, 1941, in Harnett County and resided in Dunn, N.C. most her life.
She was the daughter of the late Aaron Allen Norris and Virginia Wood Norris. She is preceded in death by sister, Doris Lee, and Brother William Edward Norris.
Catherine is survived by Sister Janie Schneider, daughters; Teresa Veit, husband Tony, Tammy Baker, husband Jeff, Jennifer Ruggles, husband Tim, and Son Marion Parker, Jr., and wife Deanna. Also included are 7 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-grandchildren.
Ms. Catherine was a devoted woman of God, who put Christ first in her everyday life. She was an active member of the Dunn Church of God. Gospel music was her favorite music and she loved singing praises to the Lord, often humming her favorite hymns. Before retirement, she was employed at Falcon Children’s Home.
Catherine lived an everyday Christian life as her actions proved the strength of her faith. She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Catherine had a passionate card ministry, which you could count receiving encouragement. Whether it was a death, illness, birthday, or for no reason at all, a card would appear. Her ministry truly was from the heart and expecting nothing in return. When she decided to bless you, Catherine didn’t take no for an answer.
She loved everybody and no one was a stranger as she placed a smile on each face crossing her path. Catherine loved to laugh, pick on you, and always seeing the positive in others. Her desire was saying something to uplift and brighten their day.
She left behind decades of morals, values, and precious memories in the lives of those left behind.
A life celebration for Ms. Mary Catherine Parker occurs at 12 noon, Thursday, September 30, 2021. Family and friends will gather from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. at the Dunn Church of God, with Pastor David Porter officiating. Catherine will rest at Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
