Richard Edgar Roscoe

Mr. Roscoe was born December 28, 1957 in Richmond County, NC to Joseph Edgar Roscoe and Rachel Frances Smith Roscoe Walters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edgar Roscoe; a grandson, Garrett Grantham; his stepmother, Mary Pope Roscoe; and brother, David Ray Porter.

Richard was a dedicated father and husband. He loved the Lord, listening to gospel music, especially listening to Good Morning Charlie on WCKB.

Richard loved to work with many decades of service as a self-employed over the road truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

Left to carry on his legacy is his loving wife, of over 43 years, Kathy C. Roscoe, of Newton Grove, NC: sons, Timothy Wayne Grantham, and wife Lori, of Benson, NC and Phil Grantham, of Erwin, NC: daughters, Jamie Lynn Norris, and husband James, of Erwin, NC: his mother, Rachel Frances Smith Roscoe Walters, of Laurel Hill, NC: sisters, Karen Pope and husband Dennis, of Coats, NC; Teresa McCall, of Coats, NC; Gail Aldred and husband Scott, of Laurel Hill, NC; Kitty Lewis and husband Ricky, of Coats NC; Debbie Johnson, of Benson, NC: brothers: Dean Roscoe, of Dunn, NC; Kenny Roscoe and wife Kim, of Dunn, NC: nine grandchildren, Jacob Gonzales, Richard Kyle Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Brandon Norris, Madisen Norris, Haley Grantham, Tristin, Grantham, Nicholas Humbarger, and Andee Grantham and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 5:00 PM, at the home of his son, Timothy Wayne Grantham and his wife Lori, 4312 NC HWY 50 South, Benson, NC 27504.
