Rose Walker Stewart

Rose was born on November 25, 1939 in Gum Cove, Louisiana, to the late Elton Joseph Walker and Bella Martin Walker. She graduated from Vinton High School and shortly thereafter married the love of her life, Robert Stewart, Sr.

Mrs. Stewart was the Rose of her family’s life. She was a kind person expressing love for her family and friends by providing an inviting home that was always filled with love and laughter. She always had a smile on her face. Rose loved to laugh and make others laugh. She loved to cook and no one ever left her home hungry. Flowers and gardening were her passions. Rose was a devoted Christian who used her musical talents to bless others.

Her husband Robert Stewart preceded her in death. Her siblings, who preceded her in death, were Elton Joseph Walker, Jr., Larry Dewayne Walker, Allen Joseph Walker, and Clara Marie Aucoin. Her infant son, Duane Stewart, also preceded her in death.

Rose, is survived by three sons: Glenn Stewart, and wife, Kathy, of Lexington, South Carolina; Robert Stewart, Jr., and wife Tammy, of Dunn, North Carolina; and Rodney Stewart, and wife Kristy, of Benson, North Carolina; and stepson Randy Allen of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Rose is also survived by three siblings, Mildred Daigle, Murline Myers, and Ima Williams

Grandma was beloved by her nine grandchildren Wesley Stewart, Madalyn Stewart, Brooke Godwin, Seth Stewart, Ashley Weyand, Katie Cauthen, Stephen Stewart, Randolyn Allen, Dalton Murphy and nine great grandchildren Bentley Stewart, Julia Godwin, Jenna Godwin, Olivia Cauthen, Morgan Daigle, Sean Daigle, Lena Daigle, Asher Murphy, and Micah Murphy

The family will receive friend’s on Tuesday, December 13th, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home.

Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow in Benson City Cemetery with Danny Darden officiating.
