Ted served his country with distinction for two years in the 82nd Airborne. After his military service, he dedicated 42 years to a successful career with the United Postal Service, from which he retired. Ted was also a devoted member of his community, where he taught Sunday School for several years.
Ted was preceded in death by his son, Timmy West. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Sarah Edge West. His legacy continues through his children: Doug and his wife Bev, Donnette and her husband Aaron, and Gayl. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Ted also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who cherished him.
A graveside service will be held at Live Oak Methodist Church Cemetery, located at 832 Live Oak Methodist Church Rd, White Oak Park, NC, 28399. The service is scheduled for December 31, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
Ted will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
