Wanda, who we lovingly called Faye, was born in Turkey, North Carolina on the 30th of September 1957 to Mozell and Doris Jean Wallace.
Faye graduated from Hobbton High School in Newton Grove, North Carolina in 1975. After graduation, she moved to New York City where she attended York College and obtained a teaching degree to teach second grade. She ended her career journey and returned back home to help raise her younger siblings. Faye began working at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1985. She started out in the dish room and worked her way to supervisor in the mid 1990's. Revered, loved, and appreciated by her coworkers, she retired after 40 years. Faye was a hardworking woman, and she passed down this trait to her daughter, Jessica.
Faye was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she attended 8:30 morning service from the 1990's until her death started declining 3 years ago.
Outside of church, Faye adored thrifting, perfume, crossword puzzles, watching the Food Network Channel, and Pepsi Colas in the bottle, not the can. She used to say that cans don't make that "SHHH" sound when you open it.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sherwin Wallace and Mona Lisa Wallace; and two brothers, Coleman Wallace and Jerome Wallace.
She leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories, her daughter, Jessica Wall of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters, Linda (Larry) Ray of Tucson, Arizona, Peggy Jean Powell of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Pamela Rivera of Atlanta, Georgia; tow brothers, David (Sharon) Wallace of Woodbridge, Virginia, Michael (Peaches) Wallace of Fayetteville, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Faye will be missed and never forgotten.
A visitation for Wanda will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina 28348, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
