

Alfred Jewel Watson, 90, of Hot Springs passed away peacefully Sunday morning with his Bible hugged gently to his chest. Alfred was born in Carthage, Arkansas, to the late Lillie and Ivory Jewel Watson. He was known for his amazing capacity to love and to nurture. Alfred nurtured many things throughout his many years from his amazing gardens, flock of wild turkeys, various rescued animals to an equally amazing family who adored him. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Leonora DeMezza, his friend Charles McDowell, and his siblings Catherine, Gretta and Garland. Those cherishing his memory are his brother Morris; his children Elaina (Rich) Clutz, Elizabeth Watson, Aleta (Franz) Leider and Terry (Mae) Watson; grandchildren Eric (Heather) Watson, Aaron (Sherry) Watson, Kirk (Leah) Watson, Blake (Saundra) Heller and David Leider; and nine great grandchildren. Alfred was a Christian with a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A visitation will be held at Gross Funeral Home Wednesday June 8 from 1pm to 2 pm with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.
