Anthony (Tony) Fakouri, 75, passed away July 30, 2023, peacefully, at home in Hot Springs, AR.
Tony was born March 25, 1948 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and had three brothers, Duke, Joe and Jay.
Tony lived in Little Rock, Arkansas for over 48 years where he was an active member of the community and a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club. Tony loved many things but especially to play golf, where he traveled the world doing just that, including Ireland and Scotland.
Tony's other loves and interests were the Arkansas Razorbacks, being a season football ticket holder for over 50 years. He also had a passion for horse racing, whether it be cheering on his own horses or betting on others. He could often be found at Oaklawn, in the Jockey Club, with his brother Duke at "their" table every weekend during the meet. Tony also had a strong family bond, and his relationship with his brothers, nephews, and niece were so important to him.
The greatest love was his wife, Kathy, and his boys, Tucker and Kooper. Many nights they enjoyed "Chasing Sunsets" on the evening boat rides at Lake Hamilton, numerous trips, golfing together and recently enjoying their home on Lake Hamilton and the beautiful life they created together with friends and family.
Tony was also known for his fabulous Christmas parties, which they had every year since 2014.
Tony touched so many lives through all of his numerous activities . His generosity was formidable, whether it was the church, AR Childrens or St Jude. He also served on many boards including "The Rep" where he expressed his love of Broadway shows and music in general.
Tony was a devout Catholic and was a member of Christ the King, in Little Rock and recently St John the Baptist in Hot Springs. No matter where he and Kathy traveled they always found a way to attend mass together. One of the most unique was their trip to Ephesus, Turkey, at the home of Mary and attended mass performed by a Polish priest.
He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School, where he played football as a Zebra. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Monticello where he played football on a scholarship and would forever be a Boll Weevil. He was also a member of Phi Lambda Chi at UAM and Man of the year in 1970, where he met so many lifelong friends. Tony had many accolades during his collegiate career, but one he was most proud of was being elected Student Body President for the state of Arkansas.
