Billy Wahl Nieburg

Billy moved to Little Rock in 1940 and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1948. He later graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a BS/BA degree, where he was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Billy was part of the R.O.T.C. program and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, serving part-time in Korea. He was the owner of STASCO Furniture Co. and later joined Brandon Furniture Co. until he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed gardening, golf, dancing, and working with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member and Deacon of Second Presbyterian Church. In 2012, he and his wife moved to the Atrium retirement community on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, AR. He transferred their membership to First Presbyterian Church. In his final days, he received excellent care from the nurses and staff at Dierksen Hospice and Quapaw Nursing Center.

Billy is survived by his loving wife Betty Jane; daughter Lisa Fontenot (Bobbie) of Sugar Land, TX; sons Stanford Nieburg (Debbie) of Bouge Chitto, MS; Steve Nieburg of Grady, AR; and Scott Nieburg of Cedar Park, TX; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; stepdaughters Vicki Hill (Jack) and Margie Jordan (Harvey); stepsons Joe Minor (Jodie) and Rick Minor (Abbie); eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Jane Waller of Allen, TX.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, located at 213 Whittington Ave, Hot Springs, AR, with a service to follow at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, 2801 Asher Ave, Little Rock, AR, with Rev. Leslie Roper officiating. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
