

On February 4th, 2024, at the age of 94, peacefully closed his eyes, drifted to sleep and took his final breath. In his final hours he was surrounded with love from by his family and friends.
Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on November 14th, 1930. A Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He loved his career of 31 years with Haliburton Oil which began in Louisiana and ended In Texas where he retired as one of the top managers in his field.
Bruce, at the age of 53, met Barabara, the most beautiful and amazing woman, who became the absolute love of his life, in Texas in 1983. They retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1985 and were blissfully married for 38 years until Barbara passed in 2021.
An active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, he served on the Board of Deacons, Property, Fellowship and several other committees. He was a devoted caretaker for many years to Lois Dannehauer and Lillian Potts, elderly members of his church, until they passed. Bruce always looked and found ways to help those in need and was much loved and respected by all who knew him.
Bruce in his retirement years had many hobbies, gardening, fishing, camping, traveling but most loved cooking, we will all miss his gumbo. In 2022 he moved into Garret Woods where he quickly became very popular as he was always out and about visiting and bringing joy to the staff and residents there. He was fondly called the “Margarita Man” as he made and supplied every social event with his famous drinks.
Bruce loved the Rainbow Bridge poem, believing his loved ones, who had gone before him, would be gathered there to wait for him to come home. Bruce’s wife Barbara Hogan, parents Carl and Jewell Hogan, brother Gerald Hogan and sister Emma Eastman, and best friends Charles and Nora Griffith, his much beloved puppy Duchess and so many more friends we can take comfort in knowing he is having such a beautiful reunion.
Bruce was an amazing son, brother, father and friend, a much loved story teller, had a big personality, and a huge heart, he was much loved by all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his sisters Hilda Elkins, Wanda Slater, daughter Lee Welser Wind and husband Mike Wind, grandchildren Tara Morrill and husband Javier Rodriguez, Callan and Sumner Morrill.
Bruce and Barbara, from your family and friends here, we take comfort in knowing that you are surrounded by so much love and that someday we will see you again waiting on your Rainbow Bridge with open arms to great us into heaven. Till then we love you and miss you both so much.
