Carol was born on August 26, 1948, in Little Rock. She spent her early years in Arkansas before her family returned to San Diego, the place she always considered home.
Her excellence in art was apparent from an early age – her work was noticed by teachers at Poway High School, and all who knew her would say her attention to creative detail carried into every aspect of her life. When she wasn’t painting or framing a photograph, you would find her carefully tending to her garden or crafting a delicious meal from her organic vegetables. Carol was an artist, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a faithful Jehovah’s Witness.
She had deep faith in the Bible’s promise held out at Revelation 21:4 – a verse she often shared with others: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry now pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Carol is survived by her children Bethany Wilk and Nathan Dale; sisters Darlene Dunigan, Wanda Pugh, Debbie Whitworth and Donna Ferguson; grandchildren Zoe and Ada Wilk and Skyler Dale; and many other loving relatives.
Carol’s memorial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 506 HWY 7, North Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Flowers may be sent to Gross Funeral Home and will be transported to the memorial service.
