Carrie Melody Murray

Carrie "Melody" Murray passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 62.

Melody was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Murray; her father, William Murray; her sister, Pam Murray; her son, Blake Randall Barnhart; and her nephews, Brian Murray and Clint Murray.

Melody was a beautiful soul and truly the life of the party. She never met a stranger, and her fun, outgoing personality could light up any room. She had so many friends because people naturally loved being around her, and she loved them right back.

She loved her family deeply, especially her children and grandbabies. The last few months of her life were spent surrounded by family, where she was happiest being close to the people she loved most. Even while dealing with health struggles, she still wanted to help take care of everybody else.

She wasn't perfect, and neither are we, but she was our mama, our Mimi, and our Mel, and she was loved more than words can say.

She is survived by her daughter, Cecily Givens and husband Gregory Givens; her grandchildren, Georgia Givens, Capp Mann, Blakely Mann, Sawyer Mann, Grant Givens, and Katie Rae Givens; her brothers, Walker Murray and Laura, Terry Terril and wife Jannet, Bobie Murray and wife Sylvia, and Billy Murray and wife Sue; and a very special family friend, Ruby Jones, who helped raise Melody and her siblings and remained a loving part of the family throughout her life. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Though our hearts are broken having to say goodbye, we are thankful she is no longer hurting or suffering.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory with prayers, kindness, and time spent with the people you love. Memorial contributions to your favorite charity may also be made in her honor.
