Danny Jay McDaniel, 78, of Royal, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
He was born December 17, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Sim Jay & Stella Katherine (Honeycutt) McDaniel. Danny was a U.S. Army veteran and a proud retiree of the U.S. Forest Service. He loved his time with the Forest Service and deployed many times across the country helping fight forest fires.
He enjoyed woodworking, making clocks, tables and small boxes with intricate inlayed tops. He loved the outdoors, feeding birds and deer, and mowing on his Kubota tractor. Danny was of the Catholic faith. Some of his best childhood memories were of his years at St. John’s School.
A brother, John M. Wilson and his fur baby Lacy precede him in death.
His wife Rebecca McDaniel and a daughter Tiffany Bell survive him. Through all the struggles, pain, loss of friends and family members, there were also many good times and God blessed the couple to remain together for over 50 years.
A memorial service will held 2:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father George Sanders officiating.
