With heavy hearts, we celebrate the remarkable life of a truly great woman with a wonderful soul—our beloved Aunt Dixie. Born and raised in Lubbock, TX, to John and Lydia Eveleen Ketchum, she carried her Southern charm and unwavering spirit to Clovis, California, where she spent her adult life. A pillar of strength and inspiration, Aunt Dixie touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, wisdom, and boundless love.
Aunt Dixie was more than just a loving presence; she was a beacon of confidence and unwavering support for her family. Whether offering words of encouragement, a listening ear, or simply sharing her radiant smile, she made every moment spent with her truly special. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her legacy of love will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was spending time with family, sharing stories, or enjoying a well-earned trip to the casino—always living life to the fullest with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of gratitude. Her faith was steadfast, and she played a significant role in the establishment of the Cowboy Church of Clovis, CA, leaving an indelible mark on her community and all who worshipped alongside her.
Aunt Dixie is survived by her beloved children, Brandon Jennings, Shannon Jennings, Sonya Gamelison, her brother John Ketchum and a multitude of cherished family members. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her love, guidance, and unwavering support will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
She will be forever known as our Aunt Dixie—a woman of grace, strength, and endless love. We will miss her deeply but take comfort in the beautiful memories she gifted us and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Aunt Dixie. Your love will remain with us always.
