Ellen or “Bubbie” as she was lovingly referred to by her family, was a dynamic woman full of compassion for others, strong and honest opinions and an exquisite gift for gardening. She spent countless days transforming her backyard into her own outdoor sanctuary; full of beautiful blooms, statues and a water feature.
Ellen had a knack for leaving both people and places better than she found them. She spent numerous hours volunteering in the community and could be found at New Life Church on Sundays where she was a member. Bubbie was always available to visit with her family, who would call daily just to chat or simply for her advice, they knew she would always be “open and honest”.
She is predeceased by her husband and soulmate of 59 years, Merrill Bazzell; her parents; grandson, Ryan Cohn; siblings, Fred Horner Jr. and Ann Lehner.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dianne Russu, Brenda Cohn (Laurence), Mark Bazzell (Shannon) and Keri Beitman (Robert); grandchildren, Suzanne, Kristin, T.J. (Jen), Kimberly, Hayley (Hugh), Carly; six great grandchildren as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Central Arkansas and Cody and Matt Ware for all of their care and compassion.
