It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our thoughtful , happy, determined son, Ethan Wayne Mitchell, age 19, on March 30th, 2025. Ethan had the most generous spirit, known affectionately by family and friends as Ethaniel, Snaggle, ET Wayne, Ethan Allen, and Squirrel with no nut.
Ethan was passionate about many things in life, including fishing, where he found peace and joy. He spent countless hours working on his car, always tinkering and improving it with love. An avid herbology enthusiast, he took great interest in medicinal plants and admiring nature. When no one was listening, Ethan would often belt out a tune, his favorite being a good Kelly Clarkson song, never afraid to show his playful side.
Ethan’s love for his family and friends was unwavering. He was the type of person who made sure to end every conversation with the words, “I love you.” He would never miss the opportunity to tell you, “you can’t be a p**** and a cowboy” His warmth, humor, and genuine kindness left an imprint on everyone he met.
Ethan is survived by:
His parents Anna and Clyde Kirby, and Travis Mitchell. His brothers Gunnar and Tucker Mitchell. His grandparents David and Allison Brown (Mimi and Grandad), Valerie Mitchell (Nana), Sue Drone, and Clyde and Barb Kirby. His great grandmothers Anna Sherrill, and Jean Smith. His aunts, uncles, and very dear friends, Christian, Briar, Jay, Kyle, Osama, Tay, Trey, Klot, Aiden, Jacob, Keaton, Grayson, Josiah, Asher, and Lily.
He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life service will be held at City Life Church of God on Sunday April 6. The visitation will start at 1:00 and the service will begin at 3:00. In lieu of flowers please help us set up a memorial fund in Ethan’s name to help high school students in need.
