Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Charles Perkins, a son Richard E. Perkins and four sisters, Juanita Wilson (Al), Kathleen Nation (George), Evelyn Godwin (Waymon), and Bonnie Jean Bean.
Survivors include a very loving and caring son, Victor A. Perkins (Wanda) of Jessieville; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Perkins Prine of Magnolia, Mississippi; brother-in-law, John Ray Bean of Hot Springs; grandson, Jake Perkins of Murfreesboro, TN, granddaughter, Mandy Perkins Whiley (Justin) of Jessieville, granddaughter, Heather Sharkey of Louisiana; two great grandsons of Jessieville, Elliott and Wyatt Whiley, 3 great grandchildren of Louisiana, Anna, Emma and Cole Sharkey; one great great grandchild of Louisiana, Marlie; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Lord and her family were most important to Hazel. She was a faithful member of Marble Missionary Baptist Church. Even after her health prevented her from attending church service, she tried to make sure to check on other members of her church family by phone. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Granny, sister, aunt and friend. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She was also a very fierce Razorback fan prior to her decline in health.
The pallbearers are Jake Perkins, Justin Whiley, Dennis Eskew, Howard Johnson, Elmer (Butch) Perkins Jr., and David Young. Honorary pallbearers are John Ray Bean, Billy Stultz and Jim Halsell.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home Thursday, March 17, 2022. Celebration of Life will be at Marble Missionary Baptist Church, 2331 Beaudry Circle, Jessieville, AR, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022, with burial following at Shiloh Cemetery in Jessieville, Arkansas.
