It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Petermann, originally from Germany, who left us peacefully on April 21, 2025, at the age of 76. Jane was a beloved wife, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Jane was born in Emsdetten Germany to the late Wactaw and Stanislawa Adamcewicz on December 3, 1948. She moved to the United States where she graduated from Fortier High School in New Orleans in 1966. A woman of strong Catholic faith, she lived her life guided by values of compassion and kindness, serving as an inspiration to everyone around her.
Throughout her life, Jane was known for her remarkable work ethic and love for her career. Even after retiring, her passion for hard work led her to a new adventure at a local motel, where her warm personality and welcoming smile left a lasting impression on guests and colleagues alike.
Jane had an insatiable love for reading, particularly romance and mystery novels, often getting lost in fictional worlds that sparked her imagination. She also adored animals, especially dogs, and her gentle spirit brought joy to every furry friend who crossed her path.
A laid-back individual at heart, Jane cherished her moments of relaxation, often enjoying sunny afternoons at the beach in Florida, where she found tranquility in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. She had a penchant for savoring an occasional glass of wine, embracing the simple pleasures life had to offer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Stanley Adamcewicz and John Adamcewicz.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, of 44 years, Michael Petermann; sister Irene Barclay; brother “Pas” Adamcewicz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever remember her warmth, laughter, and the joy she brought into their lives. She will be deeply missed but will remain in our hearts as a guardian angel, watching over us from above.
A private family service for family and friends will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Kenner, Louisiana. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.GrossFuneralHome.com for the Petermann family.
Rest in peace, dear Jane. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
