Born on August 4th 1936, in Mountain Park Oklahoma, to Carl and Earlna (Dixon) Weitner. She was the youngest of 8 children. Joyce lived a life rich with love, travel, and genuineness. She is survived by her 3 children, Brenda and Jeff Howard of Belton, Texas, Ken and Debbie Barber of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Shari and Ed Seitz of Benton City, Washington, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
A woman of many passions, Joyce found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved tending to her flowers and feeding her birds and squirrels daily. She held a creative soul that she expressed in her quilting, coloring, and painting. Card games were a treasured past-time, especially when she shared with family and friends. Her competitive spirit was matched with laughter around the table.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, honesty, and exploration. She will be remembered for her undeniable strength, her free spirit, and unconditional love she gave freely.
A celebration of life will be held with close family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Garland County Library in honor of Joyce Barber’s love of reading.
