

Linda was born on May 6th, 1951, in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Linda graduated from IU with a bachelor’s degree in education. In 1973 Linda earned a master’s degree at IU. She taught for several years in the Salem, Indiana area before moving to Houston, TX in 1980.
Shortly after moving to Houston, Linda met her husband Glen Rider, who also moved to Houston in 1980. They were married on June 20,1981 in Houston.
Linda taught Special Ed in several school districts in the Houston area and retired in 2015. Linda also served in the US Army Reserve in Indiana and Texas.
During their 45 years of marriage Glen and Linda travelled extensively both in the US and abroad.
After Glen retired, they moved to Hot Springs Village in Arkansas in 2017. Linda suffered a stroke in 2021 but was able to come home. After a 3rd stroke in 2023, she went to a nursing home in Hot Springs until she passed.
Linda is survived by her husband Glen Rider, 2 sisters Deeanna Doering and Jeanie Blevins. She was preceded in death by 2 stepbrothers, Bobby and Bill Brindle.
No formal funeral is planned so flowers are not required. Any donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Unitarian Universal Church of Hot Springs Village or the Animal Welfare center of Hot Springs Village.
