

After attending Gurdon High School, Loie proudly served in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic with the B-52 squadron. While stationed in Atwater, he met Rita Chew whom he married in 1961. Upon ending his military service, Loie began a career in the oil industry working first for Union Oil and later owning his own 76 Service Stations.
Loie retired in 2011 and moved to Nacogdoches, Texas. In 2016 he moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas where he spent time alongside his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Terry Fogle.
Known for the kindness he showed to all, Loie loved his family unconditionally. He is survived by his sons, Stephen Wayne Perry and William Scott Perry; daughter Trina Ellen Sickler and her husband Walt; grandchildren Stephen Wayne Perry Jr., Alyssa Favella and Michael Elwood Sickler; brother William “Buckle” Perry; and sisters Lou Purifoy and Sue Fogle.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Thomas.
